It never occurred to Dena Wenmohs to ask permission to do anything, whether it was riding her horse into a grocery store when she was 4, running a ranch alone after becoming widowed, or creating a painting using no greys.
She is passionate about her family, art, ranch, friends, and the big skies of Texas and all that is beneath them.
She owns The Bunkhouse, and art workshop and retreat facility that is a magnet to other artists and keeps her fully in touch with the art world and inspires her to create more, learn more, and paint more.
She is a painter, mother, grandmother, sister, rancher, friend and environmentalist.
The Ranch . Located in the foothills of the Texas Hill Country, the Wenmohs Ranch is a working cattle ranch that has been in the family for eight generations. It is located in Cypress Mill, Texas, which is west of Austin and north of San Antonio, just off Highway 281 between Marble Falls and Johnson City. (Map)
In recent years, the ranch has become popular as an artists' retreat and school, including an annual meeting of the Outdoor Painters Society each spring.
