Stowe.  Sandy paints the “real Florida” not an idealized or mythological version.  She paints the Florida that the average tourist does not see.  She captures the unspoiled beauty of the natural environment untouched by civilization. She paints with a palette knife creating a highly textured surface with an impressionistic style. Her expressive style and choice of colors creates a feeling of serenity.  One has a sense of ‘being right there” in the environment. Sandy LaCour received an Art Degree from Stetson University concentrating on both Painting and Ceramics. She is a former art teacher and award winning clay artist.  She was on the Florida art show circuit for seven years winning numerous awards including Best of Show at Art Fiesta in New Smyrna Beach, Florida.  Her paintings have been exhibited at Stetson University, Deland, Florida, Museum of Arts and Sciences, and the Art League of Daytona Beach, Florida.
