 I find developing a piece from researching the subject, to creating the composition and putting it on paper, or canvas, a challenge and exciting.  I work, mostly in oil and watercolor.  I have always loved to draw and one of my pencil drawings was a 'finalist' in the Artist Magazines yearly competition in 1996.  

Everyday activities make great painting subjects, whether it is current or years ago.  I have loved painting scenes from the late 1800's and early 1900's,  as well as the things I see around me now. 

When I am not working on large pieces in my studio I love to be outside painting the landscape.  Standing in front of the scene you are painting is very rewarding, although the whole scene will change as the light changes.  These need to be smaller pieces done quickly.

Born and raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan.  I studied under illustration artist, John Bruce, in Tennessee and oil artist, Naomi Gage, in Florida.  I am a member, and past board member, of Ann Arbor Women Artists.
